General elections : power to the people

In preparation for the general elections, much debate has been focused on the role of Malaysia’s youths in the democratic process.

Dato Ambiga Sreenevasan, the chair person of the coalition for clean and fair elections(Bersih 2.0) believes that it is vital to inform and educate voters, providing them with access to their MP’s.

” Now that people know that the power is in their hands, the next elections will carry a significant importance” said Dato Ambiga.

By pointing out that a lot of the electoral process is being undermined by the higher powers, she calls citizens to for a vigilant plan like Bersih 2.0(citizen movement for fair and clean elections)

Nurul Izzah , Malaysian MP said on 12th of October that

“Everyone is competing in a race to register as many voters as possible”

People should be able to overcome the propaganda ,and for doing so the usage of media was considerably noted.

“The power to control the media is a tactic to weaken the opponent, My argument is that we have to do our best to allow them to be able to compete in the international scene.”

The next general election contains a lot of pressure and debates involved due to it’s unknown date, but considerably there is hope for greater good .
